Hi my name is Shaddae Smith and I’m a Jamaican-born Florida-living twenty-one-year-old girl. I was born and raised in Mandeville, Jamaica where I migrated to Florida at 14 years old. The first few years I was hit by immense amounts of homesickness and I spent every holiday in my homeland. Eventually, I started adjusting to my new environment and as the culture shock lessened I began to appreciate the new opportunities presented to me. I was a Principal’s Honor Roll straight A student throughout high school while I managed to be heavily involved as the President of a philanthropic club. After graduation, I set out to college to pursue a Bachelor’s degree on the pre-med track (with the hopes of becoming a medical doctor). I’m currently a University of Florida Sociology Senior who aspires to be a…TBA. I experienced some of my first failures and losses in college which changed my outlook on life. These failures at first devastated me, but now I’m starting to see the magic in the growth which failure brings. I like giving advice and helping people to discover the best versions of themselves as they inspire me to do the same. I am in search of my passion in life. My life of structure and predictably is now predominantly led by faith and gut-instincts. My introduction is still being written to be completely honest.
